Lash Business Names: 130 Catchy, Cute and Unique Ideas
Lash business names: 130 original ideas (cute, catchy, luxe, brow and lash, with your name) plus USPTO and state checks so your brand is yours to keep.
· 8 min read · BeautiDock
The best lash business names are short, easy to say and spell, hint at lashes or eyes (blink, flutter, fan, wisp, lid), and match the experience you sell: cute and playful, quiet luxury, or a lash-and-brow studio. They also have to be available as a trademark, a local business name and an Instagram handle. Below: a 6-step method, how to check a name with the USPTO and your state, whether to use your own name, and 130 original lash business name ideas.
Key takeaways
- A good lash name passes the phone test (spelled right after hearing it once), the 5-second test (people guess "lashes") and the profile picture test (readable as a tiny Instagram logo).
- Check availability in the USPTO Trademark Search system, your state business entity search, your state or county DBA records, and on Instagram + domain.
- Beauty care services fall in trademark class 44; a federal application costs $350 per class as of October 2026.
- A business name registered with your state or a domain you bought doesn't give you trademark rights, per the USPTO.
- Using your own name is fine for a solo artist, but think about selling or hiring later.
How to choose a lash business name in 6 steps
1. Decide what you're known for
"Natural classic sets for busy moms." "Mega volume and wispy sets for content creators." "Lash lifts and brow lamination, no extensions." A cute name, a bold name and a clean clinical name attract different clients.
2. Brainstorm 30 names
Use lash vocabulary (fan, wisp, curl, lift, isolation, flutter, blink, lid, fringe), textures (silk, velvet, satin), soft animals (doe, bunny, fawn), your first name, and a couple of puns.
3. Run the clarity and sound tests
- Clarity: show the name to five strangers. If nobody thinks "lashes", add Lash, Lashes or Lash Studio.
- Out loud: "Hi, this is ___, confirming your fill tomorrow." If it's clunky in a voicemail, it's clunky everywhere.
- Spelling: say it once and ask someone to type it. "Lashez" and "Laesh" lose clients in search.
4. Check Instagram and the .com
Lash businesses live on Instagram, so the handle matters more than almost anywhere. Search the exact handle on Instagram and TikTok and test the .com. If it's taken, add your city (flutterclub.tampa) rather than random characters.
5. Do the legal checks
Covered below. It takes 20 minutes and can save you a full rebrand.
6. Test with real clients
Ask 10 people in your target clientele to pick from three finalists and tell you what each name makes them expect.
How to check if a lash business name is available
1. USPTO Trademark Search. Use the USPTO's free Trademark Search system at tmsearch.uspto.gov (it replaced the old TESS tool on November 30, 2023). Search the exact name, sound-alikes and spelling variants. The USPTO explains that marks can conflict when they sound alike, look alike or leave the same overall impression and the services are related. Beauty salon services are in class 44 of the Nice classification; also look at class 3 (cosmetics, which includes false eyelashes), especially if you plan to sell your own lash line or aftercare.
2. State trademarks and the internet. The USPTO's examining attorney only searches the federal register; the USPTO says checking state trademark databases and the internet is up to you. Search Google and Google Maps for the name plus "lash".
3. State business entity search. If you form an LLC, search your Secretary of State's database. The SBA notes that most states won't register a name already registered by someone else.
4. DBA. If you work under a name other than your legal name or your LLC's name, most states require a DBA registration, per the SBA. It may be filed with your state, county or city, and it doesn't protect the name by itself.
5. Federal trademark (optional). The USPTO says you're not required to register, and you become a trademark owner when you start using the mark. Registration adds nationwide protection for a base fee of $350 per class (in effect since January 2025). Names that only describe the service ("Eyelash Extensions Studio") can be refused as merely descriptive. This is general information, not legal advice.
Lash business names with your name: pros and cons
Many lash artists build a following around themselves, so a personal name is a natural choice.
Why it works
- Clients already search for you; referrals say "go see Naomi".
- It feels personal and trustworthy for a one-on-one service.
- It's easy to keep if you change suites or cities.
Why it can backfire
- It's harder to sell a business named after you, or to hire artists clients will book instead of you.
- Common first names collide: there may be three "Lashes by Jess" in your metro.
- The USPTO says it will refuse to register a mark whose primary significance is a surname, so a last name alone ("Martinez Lashes") is a weak mark.
- Privacy: your full name in your brand makes your personal profiles easy to find.
A middle ground: pair your first name with a lash word or a distinctive word ("Naomi Lash Co.", "Studio Bianca Lash"), or use initials. You keep the personal touch, and the brand can outgrow you.
Mistakes to avoid when naming a lash business
- Riffing on a big lash brand or franchise. Close spellings of national chains or famous lash lines invite a legal letter.
- Product claims in the name. "Mink", "Organic" or "Damage-Free" in your name is a promise you'll have to back up on every set.
- Pop-culture logos and phrases. Superhero and movie references are often trademarks.
- Creative spelling. Every swapped letter is a lost search.
- Too narrow. "Volume Only Lashes" is awkward when you add lifts or brows.

Test your shortlist (checklist)
Run your top three lash business names through this list:
- Someone types it correctly after hearing it once.
- A stranger guesses "lashes" (or "lash and brow") within 5 seconds.
- Reads clearly as a tiny Instagram profile picture and on a business card.
- No identical or sound-alike mark in USPTO Trademark Search for class 44 or cosmetics (class 3).
- No match in your Secretary of State search or state trademark records.
- No lash or brow business with the same name on Google Maps nearby.
- Instagram handle free, or a clean variant with your city.
- .com free, or a short alternative you're happy to say out loud.
- Still fits if you add lifts, brows, a second artist or a product line.
- DBA or LLC filing planned, and you've decided whether to file a trademark.
Name chosen? Make it bookable
Put the same name on your Instagram bio, Google Business Profile and booking link. BeautiDock gives your lash studio a booking website in your name and brand color, 24/7 online booking, email reminders the day before, and optional deposits per service (fills and full sets can have different amounts). The Pro look option ($9/month) adds your own domain. You can start your booking site free.

Frequently asked questions
What is a catchy name for a lash business?
A catchy lash business name is short, easy to say, hints at lashes or eyes (blink, flutter, fan, wisp, lid) and has a rhythm people remember, like 'Flutter Club' or 'Lid Service'. It also needs to be free as a trademark, a local business name and an Instagram handle.
Should I use my own name for my lash business?
Using your name builds a personal brand and is easy to remember for loyal clients, but it's harder to sell the business or grow a team under it. The USPTO may refuse to register a mark whose main meaning is a surname, so combining your first name with a lash word, like 'Lashes by Naomi', is a common middle ground.
How do I check if a lash business name is available?
Search the name and sound-alikes in the USPTO's Trademark Search system, your Secretary of State's business search and your state or county DBA records, then check Google Maps, Instagram and the .com. For a name you'll invest in, a trademark attorney can run a full clearance search.
Do I need a DBA for my lash business?
If you work under any name other than your own legal name or your LLC's registered name, the SBA says most states require you to register a DBA. Depending on where you live, it's filed with the state, county or city.
